Projects
Since 1996 the National Fund of the Republic of Austria for the Victims of National Socialism has been promoting projects that are both dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Nazi regime and for the benefit of the survivors of National Socialist persecution.

The movie "Auf Wiedersehen 'til we meet again" was co-financed by the National Fund and will be screened at the Jewish Film Festival Vienna in November 2011. You can watch a trailer or download the poster (PDF).

Using National Fund resources and 'looted gold funds', more than 700 projects have been supported so far. The total amount raised by the National Fund for the development of projects since 1996 is 18,567,417 Euros (as of December 2010).
The National Fund sets priorities in the allocation of development funds. The main focus is on the living victims of National Socialism. For this reason, socio-medical and psychotherapeutic projects, which directly benefit people, are particularly emphasised. Further to this, the National Fund can support projects that serve to promote scientific research into National Socialism and the fate of its victims, remember the National Socialist injustices or preserve the memory of the victims.
The projects promoted by the National Fund are financed from two different sources. On the one hand from the budget item earmarked 'project development' in the National Fund Law (BGBl. Nr. 432/1995), on the other hand from funds according to the law concerning allocations to the International Fund for victims of National Socialism ('looted gold' - BGBl. I Nr. 182/1998).
